DR-402 Predicting response to immune-checkpoint inhibitors in metastatic cancer using Gene-expression-based T-Cell-to-Stroma Enrichment (TSE) score
Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) have significantly improved clinical outcomes of patients with metastatic cancers. In clinical practice, three biomarkers are available to select patients with metastatic disease for ICIs, which are PD-L1 protein in tumor tissue, tumor mutational burden and microsatellite instability. However, the predictive value of these markers is inconsistent or insufficient. A recent study by Rijnders, et al. (https://www.nature.com/articles/s41467-024-45714-0) showed that the T-Cell-to-Stroma Enrichment (TSE) score, a transcriptomic-based marker predicts response to ICI in metastatic urothelial carcinoma. The TSE score has the potential to serve as a pan-cancer marker to predict response to ICI and improve survival
