DR-432 Exploring molecular mechanisms involved in lung cancer progression and prediction of clinical outcomes
This project aims to improve lung cancer treatment by studying the complete genetic makeup of cancer cells. We will use data from various sources, including the Hartwig Medical Foundation, to find new genetic changes that affect how cancer grows, spreads and responds to treatments. By comparing primary and metastatic cancers and focusing on the differences in challenging-to-treat lung cancer types, we hope to identify new ways to target these cancers and predict how patients will respond to existing treatments. Our ultimate goal is to personalise lung cancer treatments, leading to better outcomes and longer survival for patients.
