DR-529 Validation of a genomic pattern as a predictive biomarker for lack of response to platinum-based chemotherapy
Upfront identification of non-responders to platinum-based chemotherapy will prevent ineffective treatment and drug related toxicity, while facilitating the use of alternative strategies. Whole genome sequencing (WGS) data of metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC) patients previously revealed that a pattern of deletions in specific regions of the genome was strongly associated with lack of response to platinum-based therapy. Cancers displaying many of these type of deletions were defined as ‘Resolved Stalled replication Fork’ positive or RSF+. This project aims to validate RSF+ status as predictive biomarker for treatment failure in an independent cohort of patients receiving platinum-based chemotherapy.
