DR-451 Clinical-driven discovery of noncoding cancer drivers and related transcriptomic and prognostic features
Cancer cells accumulate genetic mutations, with only a few required to trigger malignancy. Previous research has focused on coding mutations, which directly alter genetic function, successfully identifying recurring cancer-promoting mechanisms. However, most mutations occur in the noncoding genome, which is less understood and could benefit patients without known coding mutations. This proposal aims to study this underexplored part of the genome through the dissection of clinico-genomic and transcriptomic data in this cohort. The findings may help uncover new cancer-driving mechanisms and facilitate the development of anticancer drugs and early diagnostics.
