DR-394 Uncovering immunoediting strategies and hallmark ordering underlying metastatic transformation across tumours
This project seeks to unravel the complex process by which cancer outsmarts the immune system, a critical challenge in cancer progression. Through comprehensive analysis of genetic information from over 3,000 metastatic cancer patients, we aim to map the sequence in which cancer acquires its defining traits and its strategies to evade immune detection. By integrating data on genetic mutations, gene expression patterns, and immune response markers, we will explore the co-evolution of immune cells and metastatic clones. Our research promises to revolutionize cancer prevention, enhance early detection, and tailor personalized treatment strategies by leveraging our body’s own defence mechanisms against cancer.
